Information
Why am I getting this?
To start with, no one can stop the Junk E-Mail Companies from sending
E-Mail to you. They won't stop, since they are paid to send as many
messages as they can. Even if you don't want it, they don't care.
They are paid per message sent no matter how badly you don't want it.
You may complain, and get a Junk E-Mailers account yanked, but often
those are throwaway freebie accounts offered by some providers.
They just move on to another account and do it all again.
Some backbone providers (notably Apex Global Internet Services)
allow these companies to operate from their networks. They ignore your
complaints, the Junk E-Mail Companies ignore your complaints, and you
still get more Junk E-Mail.
What about these "Remove Lists"?
Remove Lists don't work, as you may have already found out. The
Junk E-Mail Companies often trade these lists, and send mail to them
anyway. They know these are more likely to be real, active E-Mail addresses,
and that sending to them means it's more likely a person will read their
advertizing. Services which provide "Mailing List Filtering" services
or otherwise claim to get you removed from Junk E-Mail lists don't work
either, since the Junk E-Mail Companies don't use them.
So what can I do?
If the Junk E-Mailers can't be stopped from sending the messages, what
can be done? Our solution is to provide a Mailbox for you where we
stop the delivery of the mail before it gets to your InBox.
They try to send it, but it doesn't get delivered to you. You can
use this E-Mail address freely and publicly without having to worry
about it filling up with unwanted solicitation.
This system uses specially developed and customized software to scan
all incoming mail. Each E-mail that is received is scanned by our
software for signs of validity, syntax, known spam signatures, and other
indications of fraudulent or unsolicited bulk E-Mail.
You can register for a WhiteICE account using the
WhiteICE Registration form.
We do ask that you not use this service for subscribing to mailing lists,
since some of these may falsely appear to be unwanted Junk E-Mail, and we
may not be able to properly allow them through and still provide you and
the other users the Junk E-Mail protection that you're looking for. Your
understanding and help is appreciated.
Will this stop all of it?
Try as we might, we can't catch everything. Should an unwanted Junk E-Mail
get through to you, let us know. Just send a copy of the message to
Hostmaster@WhiteICE.COM,
and we'll make any needed adjustments to prevent you hearing from them again.
We hope that you will find our service beneficial to your Internet experience.
